In mid-April, Lucca, Italy, typically experiences mild spring weather with increasing sunshine and occasional rainfall. It’s advised to bring a jacket, it will be chilly in the evening.

Getting There
PLANE
We would highly recommend staying in Borgo a Mozzano or Central Lucca from Friday April 10 - Wednesday April 14. Wedding festivities will take place on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Note transport will be provided from a Central Lucca point and Borgo a Mozzano.
If you choose to stay in another location please arrange your own transport.
Pisa and Florence airport are the closest international hubs to Lucca. Some indicative travel times are as follows.
Airport Distance to town of Borgo a Mozzano:
Pisa Airport to Borgo a Mozzano: 50 mins by car or 1 hour 20 minutes by train.
Florence Airport to Borgo a Mozzano: 1 hour 45 minutes by car or 2 hour 5 minutes by train.
Milan Airport to Borgo a Mozzano: 4 hours by car or 5 hours 15 mins by train.
Rome Airport to Borgo a Mozzano: 4 hours 10 minutes by car or 4 hours 45 minutes by train.'
PASSPORT & VISAS
Bangladesh & India
You will need a short-stay Schengen (Type C) visa to attend the wedding. Standard processing can take up to 15 days, but the embassy can take as long as 45 days in busy periods.
Visa fee approx €80.
United States & Australia
No traditional visa is required for trips under 90 days in any 180-day period. Just bring a passport valid for at least 6 months. The EU is introducing a quick online travel authorisation (similar to the US ESTA) called ETIAS. The launch date will be announced later in 2025. If ETIAS is active by your travel dates, we will update this page.

Book early: Summer reservations fill quickly. Aim to lock in flights and start any visa paperwork ahead of schedule.
Carry printouts: Italian border officers may ask for your return ticket, hotel details or our wedding invitation — Have them handy.
Stay insured: Medical cover of €30,000 or more is mandatory for Schengen visas and strongly recommended for visa-exempt travellers.
